2024 CARICOM Classic Inaugural Team Chess Tournament

We’re thrilled to announce that our team, consisting of Avian Pride, Dr. Joseph Ferguson, WFM Polina Karelina, and Chika Pride, is in Guyana to proudly represent The Bahamas at the CARICOM Classic Inaugural Chess Tournament 2024.

The tournament kicks off today and runs until March 10th, featuring intense battles against players from Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, St Lucia, The Cayman Islands, Barbados, Suriname, and Dominica.

The opening ceremony yesterday was highlighted by a special moment with GM Viswanathan Anand, the Deputy President of FIDE and five-time World Chess Champion! 🏆🤩 Check out the photo below capturing this unforgettable moment with Team Bahamas.
