National Junior Female Chess Championship

The 2026 Bahamas National Junior Female Chess Championship brings together the country’s young female chess players for a day of competitive play at Boost Academy. The event will feature 5 rounds of chess, with the winner crowned the 2026 Junior National Female Chess Champion.

ELIGIBILITY

• Open to all female players born after January 1st, 2006.

• Must be a member of a BCF Affiliate Club / School or a BCF Junior Member.

Note: A player may become a member or renew her membership immediately before the tournament.

ENTRY

Submission: Registration form must be completed and submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 23^rd.

Instructions: Select events, then select The National Junior Female Chess Championship. Complete and submit the registration form.

Note: NO application will be accepted after the deadline.

AWARDS

The Winner will be the 2026 Junior National Female Chess Champion.

The top 3 places will receive a gift and trophy.

All players will receive a certification.

RULES

• Pairings will be done automatically by a pairing software following the FIDE -Swiss Rules

• The default time is 30 minutes after the round has started.

• Tie-Break System – 1) Buchholz Cut 1; 2) Buchholz; 3) Cumulative system – Sum of Progressive Scores; 4) Direct encounter; 5) The greater number of wins including forfeits.

• The Tournament Director and Chief Arbiter can agree to change the format before the beginning of the tournament if needed, depending on the number of players entered. If six or fewer players register the format will change to a round-robin.

• No mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and other smart devices (including watches) will be allowed in the play area.

The Federation will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or theft on the premises. By registering for this event, players acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the tournament regulations.
